About us

Bekum is a family run company, founded in 1959, Berlin, with more than 300 employees located in Berlin/Germany, Traismauer/Austria and Williamston/USA, and designs and builds extrusion blow moulding machines to produce plastic hollow containers. Since the beginning, Bekum has developed numerous inventions and patents that now rank among the industry standards for blow moulding machines. Today, Bekum offers a wide range of electric machines, which increased demands on control and automation technology. With the latest machine control BC 8.0, sensor technology and health and condition monitoring assistance systems, Bekum is the first blow moulding machine manufacturer to enter the age of AI. We offer tailor-made solutions for Mono, Tri-Ex, Multilayer applications in beverage, dairy, liquid food, food, cosmetic, pharmaceutics, agrochemical industry, technical applications from 3ml to 3.000 L.

Packaging Machines

New blow moulding machines concept up to 12 L

The modular 8-series extrusion blow moulding machines for flexible configuration include the machine sizes 508, 608, 708, 808, 1008 and 1208, all of which are available as double-station machines. The 508, 608 and 708 sizes are also available as single-station models. At the heart of the clamping units in the new EBLOW 8-series, is the mould clamping system developed and patented by Bekum. It guarantees outstanding closing platen parallelism, as well as uniform clamping force distribution. It is important to Bekum that the clamping units ensure a short clamping force build-up time in order to meet the process engineering requirements of all blow-moulded articles.

Convincing features of the new 8 Series

• Award-winning, functional and ergonomic machine design
• Generously sized access and viewing area
• Clamping forces from 150 to 500 kN
• Dry cycle times 1.8 - 3.7 sec
• Patented C-frame of the clamping unit for high clamping platen parallelism and uniform clamping force distribution across the mould width
• Short clamping force build-up time < 100 ms
• Highly efficient electric drives
• Parison cutting with pre-pinch, spear cutting or hot trimming device
• Linear take-out system with rear article conveyor belts
• Mechanical quick mould clamping system

Industrial Machines

New machine concept for canisters, IBCs, drums, water tanks and a wide range of technical parts

The newly designed XBLOW series includes machine sizes 50, 100, 200 and 300, which are available as single-station machines.
The centerpiece is the new patent-pending clamping unit with diagonally arranged tie-bars and a two-stage hybrid-electric clamping drive for clamping forces of 500 – 3.000 kN. The use of servo hydraulics has significantly reduced energy requirements. The use of blow moulds of different thicknesses has been taken into account in the design, and the operator can conveniently and easily adjust very large variable mould  thicknesses that are not possible with other electric clamping drives of large blow moulding systems, via the new Bekum Control 8.0 machine control system on the HMI. This system does not need to be mechanically adjusted. While the clamping unit is centrally located under the platform, continuous heads require a laterally offset position. Modern and quiet speed-controlled hydraulic units reduce energy consumption and reduce the noise level to 71 dB(A).

Advantages at a glance:

Advantages at a glance:
• Flexible and modular industrial blow moulding systems with high accessibility and flexible production solutions for large canisters, drums   and IBCs
• Unique hybrid electric clamping concept up to 3,000 kN, fast, energy-saving and with unique mould thickness variance (patent pending)
• Rapid stroke movement electrically and hydraulically. Hydraulic mould functions and accumulator heads driven by variable-speed   hydraulic power unit.
• Can be equipped with bottom calibration, blowing and spreading blow pins, as well as horizontal and vertical parison transfer devices.
• Complete production solutions including moulds, robots, post-processing or post-cooling stations and material handling from a single   source, i.e. for 220L ring drums.
• Intuitive Bekum Control 8.0 control with AI monitoring for continuous article quality and highest line availability
• High-performance HiPEx 36D extruder with homogeneous melting and process stability with -20% energy consumption
• Modern simulation-supported spiral mandrel extrusion heads, as accumulator head and continuous for mono to co-extrusion. Melt   and temperature homogeneous with short colour change times
